Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union branch in Fergus Falls is using Monday's bank and government holiday to do good in the local community. One of the highlights will be donating $10K to Fergus Falls schools. CEO Dave Larson says it’s part of a statewide celebration called Plus It Forward Day, which is in its 7th year…
“…This year, what we did was we added to it. In terms of that, we offered a $10,000 charitable donation to all of our different branches. We have 28 of them across the state of Minnesota. We believe education is a big part so a lot of what we have going on today is kind of built around education. But again it's all about just doing good and making impact and spreading kindness…”
Fergus Falls School District received toddler specimen viewers to for the Early Childhood Program, a display railing and an Apple TV and brass mutes to Kennedy 5th grade band. In addition, Affinity Plus is serving a free lunch to District Office staff and Early Childhood Program teachers and staff, as well as teachers and staff at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.
Larson says that more than 500 employees corporate-wide will spend the day volunteering, serving and scattering kindness in Affinity Plus communities across Minnesota.
“Plus It Day” is an annual day of generosity and kindness, focused on community contributions.
