(MNN) Last year Cyber Monday, the common name for the online deal-filled Monday following Thanksgiving generated a record-breaking seven-point-nine billion dollars in purchases.
But with the buying comes the risk of scams.
The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota says as you shop online beware of false advertising and only shop from sellers on secured sites.
Another helpful step to keep you safe is to make sure your antivirus software is up to date and only use credit cards for purchases instead of wiring money or using prepaid debit cards.
