The Minnesota Department of Transportation is awarding more than 26-million dollars in F-A-A grants to 14 airports in rural parts of the state and Fergus Falls is one of them. MnDOT awarded $493,000 to the Fergus Falls Airport to be used primarily to preserve pavement runways and improve the infrastructure for local communities.

MnDOT's Cassandra Isackson was quoted as saying that the funding will help secure safe, efficient air operations for airports serving greater Minnesota.

Other regional F-A-A grant recipients included the Wilmar Municipal Airport at 907-thousand dollars, Baudette International Airport at 65-thousand dollars, and topping out the list with the largest grant was Falls International Airport in International Falls at 15-point-eight-five million dollars.
