Juvenile Driver Issued Citation In ATV Crash With Serious Injuries

A juvenile passenger on an ATV suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries in a crash approximately 2 miles north of Heilberger Lake late Monday afternoon. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at around 5:30pm reporting the crash in the 24,000 block of Tonseth Lane. Initial information stated that one party had serious injuries and two others may have had minor injuries. The juvenile passenger with serious but non-life threating injuries was transported to Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls and later by ground to Sanford in Fargo. Another adult passenger from Minneapolis denied medical assistance at the scene but later sought treatment for minor injuries. The juvenile driver of the ATV, did not seek medical treatment at the scene, but did sustain minor injuries and received a citation for reckless driving.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Elizabeth Rescue, Ringdahl Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, and the DNR.
