Man Brandishing Knife Prompts Police Response In Grand Forks Click to Enlarge

Grand Forks police confiscated a knife after receiving reports of a male subject walking around a parking lot swinging the blade in his hand. Authorities were dispatched to the lot on the 300 block of 1st Avenue South shortly after five p-m last night.

Officers say the individual dropped the weapon on command. The G-F-P-D identified the suspect as 29-year old Kaiser Pittman. Pittman stated he pulled the knife after being threatened by another individual. Officers were unable to locate anyone else in the area. No one was in the parking lot at the time when the knife was displayed. Pittman was later released from the scene.

In a prepared statement police say the knife was seized for safe keeping.
