(MNN) A fourth closed-door meeting today at the State Capitol as Democrats and Republicans continue trying to reach a deal on an assistance program for those who can't afford insulin.
Representative Michael Howard from Richfield says while they're having productive discussions, "we are not yet to a place where we have a bill that we can send to the governor and hold a special session.
Howard says they need to work urgently because this is long past due that we solve this problem.
He acknowledges one issue that still remains is whether to make insulin manufacturers pay for the program.
Governor Tim Walz is urging negotiators to come to an agreement and says their 30-day deadline is Monday.
