The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office say there were no significant injuries in a single vehicle crash just north of New York Mills on Thursday that reportedly occurred when some youths were involved in horseplay.
The vehicle driven by 18 year old Colby Graphenteen of New York Mills, lost control of the vehicle on a muddy road and two wheels went into a ditch. He over-corrected and ended up turning the vehicle onto its roof.
The driver and two other 14 year old male passengers from New York Mills in the vehicle were taken by a private vehicle to Perham Health and treated and released with no significant injuries.
Before leaving the scene, they reportedly told a Sheriff’s Deputy that “they were screwing around and wanting to hear the pipes”.
Graphenteen was issued a citation for duty to drive with care.
