The 3rd year of OTC ON ICE is making accommodations for ice conditions on Ottertail Lake.
Organizers say ice conditions are improving on the lake, however, they say there are still spots with as little as 9-10 inches of ice. In addition, snow, slush & water are still a concern.
The organizers of the annual event have decided to move the big tent to the Thumper Pond Resort parking lot in Ottertail. Organizers also say that they will be clearing off the RV Parking sites at Thumper Pond Resort and participants will be allowed to bring their fish houses and camp for free over the January 31st-February 1st weekend.
They do warn that accommodations will be first come, first serve and participants are urged to make reservations.
The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Minnesota will still happen on Otter Tail Lake on Saturday, February 1st at noon, as well as the online fishing derby with FishDonkey taking place countywide Jan 24 - Feb 1.
In addition, the Otter Trail Riders Snowmobile Club trail ride will now start at Thumper Pond on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Organizers say a two-day music pass with six featured bands is $40, and can be ordered at otconice.com.
Reservations can be made for Thumper Pond Resort parking lot in Ottertail by calling 218-367-2000.
