A man and his wife were scammed out of money in the 200 block of Buse St in Fergus Falls on Tuesday with a vehicle transaction on Craig’s List. The couple was advised by their bank to report the incident. It all started when they apparently received a fraudulent check in the amount of $4500 and sent a check back to the same party on Craig’s List for $1800. The total amount the couple lost was $1,816. As always, police urge caution when dealing with unknown people online, and that anytime a buyer sends you more than you were asking for to consider it fraudulent.
