Theodore Tiede Sentencing

A Fergus Falls man who threatened his girlfriend’s life and barricaded himself in his house for a little over two hours in July of 2017 was sentenced yesterday in Otter Tail County District Court. 28-year-old Theodore James Tiede has agreed to plead guilty in the incident, in exchange for dropping nine felony charges. He will plead to three counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and will get two 36- month prison terms, for a total of 72 months. On the third charge, Tiede also received another 36 months, but that will be served concurrently. He did receive 481 days credit for time already served in Otter Tail County. In addition to the prison time, Tiede was also given a life-time firearms ban and additional fines.
