The traffic signals will soon be working again at the Lincoln Avenue and Tower Road intersection in Fergus Falls. A new control panel will be installed on the 20th and 21st of January. City Public Works Director Len Taylor says it will also be an upgraded unit…
“…There is going to be a new feature I guess you'd say, with this control cabinet. You see in a lot of cities now, and a lot of intersections where they'll have the flashing yellow, that flashes all the time, that's going to be the way this will be set up now too. Help traffic move through that intersection a little easier now. When the new panel is installed on the 20th and the 21st, the whole intersection will be dark and without power. So we'll have signage alerting people of the work in the intersection going on, and then also (there will) be signage in the intersection just controlling the traffic. There will be stop signs placed right at the intersection…”
The original control panel, and related equipment, was destroyed in the course of a semi crash in November of last year.
