A 15 year old Fergus Falls boy was allegedly bitten by a four year old German Shepard that had gotten loose in the 1100 block of South Sheridan St. on Wednesday evening.
Police say the report came in at about 9 that the boy was walking down South Sheridan when the dog attacked him, he reported to responding officers that he brought up his right arm to block his face, and the dog then bit his right forearm, and shoulder. Police say the bites did break the skin, but the injuries sustained did not warrant any further medical response.
The owner of the animal was issued a citation, and as per Otter Tail County Health Department protocol, the dog will quarantined at the owner’s residence for 10 days.
A report of the incident was forwarded to the county’s Public Health health who will follow-up with the owner to determine the next steps.
In 2018, The Otter Tail County Board passed an ordinance called “the Animal Bite and Dangerous Dog Ordinance.”
