When the chief judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals steps down it will end the second-longest tenure of any chief judge in that panel’s history.
Chief Judge Edward Cleary announced his retirement Tuesday. It will take effect at the end of April next year.
Cleary has served as chief judge since 2013.
He was the first of then-Governor Mark Dayton’s 12 appeals court appointees when he was selected in 2011.
