(From MNN) -- Two more summer traditions in Minnesota are being cancelled over COVID-19 concerns.
The board of directors scrapped the 2020 Anoka County Fair in late July. Officials said their decision was made based on the impossibility of monitoring and enforcing social distancing requirements, the health and safety of the community, the fair’s vendors, carnival, staff, and exhibitors, as well as to preserve the financial ability of the Anoka County Fair.
The 2020 Douglas County Fair is also a casualty of the pandemic. The board of directors said "we did not make this decision lightly.
The health and safety of all fairgoers is our top priority." Both fairs are looking forward to returning in 2021.
