(MNN) -- One of the ex-Minneapolis officers charged in the death of George Floyd wants Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman removed from the case.
The lawyer for J. Alexander Kueng filed a motion saying Freeman, "through his actions and statements has compromised his ethics, duty to the community and ability to impartially prosecute the case against Mr. Kueng."
The filing also cites Freeman's alleged leak about a plea agreement for former officer Derek Chauvin and biased public statements against the officers. Attorney General Keith Ellison was brought into the lead the prosecutions of the four ex-officers.
The next court date in the case is September 11th
