Officials in Hennepin County are considering a proposal to raise the age to buy and sell tobacco products.
The minimum age to sell tobacco would increase from 16-to-18 years old.
The age to buy tobacco products would jump from 18-to-21 years old.
The change would also limit the sale of cigars and flavored tobacco products to adult-only stores.
Five cities in the county and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport would be impacted by the change.
